Dennis Verreet

Dennis Verreet

From Belgium to NZ to Aussie & all over the globe, Dennis has travelled far & wide and made himself a big name for fishing & catching some monster fish. We had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with Dennis in Summer 2020. Dennis & I spent time fishing & prototyping in the shed making and designing lures for a few months.

When we asked him to tell us his story this is what he said,

“My dad always drove with us to a lake in Belgium and I walked off with a fishing rod in my hand and fished by myself. I learned most of it through fishing magazines and trying stuff myself. In 2000 I came to Australia on a business trip and visited tackle shops to see how they fish here in OZ and was surprised about the size of the fish you can catch from the shore. 1 year later I came back on a work and travel visa and started fishing saltwater and an addiction was born. I flew from Germany to Australia as often as I could and started fishing all over the place and caught bigger and bigger fish and ended up in more than 10 magazine articles in Australia and 4 times on Australia’s fishing magazine. I then went on and caught a world record 212lb yft tuna of off the rocks and beat my own record again with a 230lb yft tuna and that’s where it started as a payed job with all sorts of sponsors. Later on, I started fishing off boats as well after finding out that I don’t get seasick anymore, which I did when I was younger.”
